Sunday setlist for Lifehouse Church.
- Holy is The Lord (Tomlin)
- Here is Our King (David Crowder)
- Rescue (Desperation Band)
- Be Thou My Vision (Irish hymn)
This Sunday was a little crazy. I’ll do a full recap later. This week I lead and played acoustic guitar, as well as one background vocalist who lead out on Rescue.
ETA my recap/confessional!
So, our little church-plant meets in an elementary school, of which we use the auditorium/cafeteria for services, the kitchen for food prep, the gym for kiddies and the bathrooms, of course. The school district provides a janitor who helps us find things, set up, etc. Apparently the paperwork for the rental for the new school year was misfiled. Meaning, we had no place to meet this week. The rental starts this next Sunday. So, needless to say, we found this out on Thursday, and were scrambling. We had no access to the school at all, and a lot of our equipment was locked inside.
The pastor lives across the street from the school with a bigish back yard so we decided to meet at his house. The church that sent him out lent us some chairs and tables. Being that he has neighbors who probably wanted to be sleeping on a Sunday morning, we did not use any power for the worship/speaking. Totally acoustic. No music stands for the songs. I had the other singer hold my lead sheets and we just winged it.
Overall, it was a beautiful day. The kids played in the park across the street. The 40ish of us had a lot of fun in the backyard and God really used the time to bring us closer together as a family. I can sense we are all starting to be more familiar with each other- it’s not so awkward anymore. The most unexpected thing about this church plant is that the people who have chosen to commit come from all over. I know a few other couples, and that’s it. It’s really growing and stretching me to be more vulnerable and open with people I’ve just started to get to know.
This post is part of Sunday Setlists.

Holy is the Lord is one of my favorites. Sometimes “crazy” Sundays can be the best.
Love this set list! Definitely a few of my favorites here.. I think I say that a lot… I just have a lot of favorites!
I’ve got to get Be Thou My Vision back in the mix. What an amazing lyrical work of art.
Good mix of songs!
I love church planting… mainly because of the flexibility of everyone involved! You learn together, you grow together… and you wing things at the last moment together!!!
Great Set List!! I agree with Steve “Sometimes “crazy” Sundays can be the best. “
This sounds really, really cool…
