What a crazy morning!

As I got into my car this morning and pulled away from the house the battery light came on. GREEEAAAAT. I called my dad, who lives just a few minutes from me, and thank YOU LORD, he was up. I barely made it over there, the lights in the car were dimming. Not a good sign. I got my stuff into his mini-van and was just on time. Overall, the morning seemed a little hectic to me. I missed some chords (very unlike me), and started some songs off too fast. The car thing made me feel a little crazy all morning, and we did some new stuff with the sound equipment which took extra long to set-up.

The worship set looked like this:

1. Here is Our King (Crowder) – F
2. Mighty to Save (Morgan, Fielding) – F

3. Sing to the King (Foote) – E
4. Hosanna (Fraser) – E
5. Cannons (Wickham) – D

Special Song – A King and A Kingdom (Derek Webb) I do like this song, but it’s fairly provocative. I am rarely nervous anymore, but my knees were shaking a little while I was playing it. I don’t think anyone noticed. Here is one of the verses:

“there are two great lies that I’ve heard:
“the day you eat of the fruit of that tree, you will not surely die”
and that Jesus Christ was a white, middle-class republican
and if you wanna be saved you have to learn to be like Him

my first allegiance is not to a flag, a country, or a man
my first allegiance is not to democracy or blood
it’s to a king & a kingdom”

Communion – One Thing (Hall) – D One thing I realized, is that now that there are more people taking communion, I will have to plan for 2 songs next time. This song was a little short for the amount of time we needed for everyone to take communion.

This post is a part of Sunday Setlists, so go check out what other churches are doing during their Sunday mornings.
