Exodus 33

Last night I was reading the story in Exodus when Moses asked God to show him His glory, and he was placed in the cleft of the rock.  God told Moses that he couldn’t look at His face- or he would die.

19 And the LORD said, “I will cause all my goodness to pass in front of you, and I will proclaim my name, the LORD, in your presence. I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 20 But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.”

Anyway, I was thinking about that passage this morning on my bike commute to work.  Would I die if I saw the face of God?  Then I got to thinking about it- did John die when he saw God in Revelation?  Or does the blood of Christ change this?

What do you think?

It’s been a busy week.  All my 5 days of work (at my day job) are stuffed into 4.  I really enjoyed the 3 day weekend, Bryce and I watched some (a lot) of TV with the dog and hung out with friends by the outdoor fire.   Very nice and cool out, I made beef stew and ate loaf of fresh baked bread.  Eating and watching TV- my guilty pleasures :).

Thoughts have been swirling about how to get my music stuff organized.  Right now I’m storing everything (song repertoire, schedule, new ideas) in my brain.. not a good idea!   An excel file might be a good idea- or a google spreadsheet.  Does anyone know if you can import Excel workbooks into google spreadsheets? Or iCal into google calender?  That would be invaluable.

This Sunday we are moving services to 10:30 AM.  Yes! I am so excited.  I liked the afternoon services this summer becuase I could sleep in, but practically, it wasn’t working for me.   I would sleep in until late morning, get breakfast with Bryce and then be at church from 3 until 7.  Then it’s basically time for bed.  I’m excited because I think more people will be able to make a morning service on a regular basis and I’ll have a day to spend with Bryce before we have to work again.

Musicians are sparse this week- right now it’s just myself and a singer.  I’m comfortable with that, I just wish I had some kind of percussion.  As of now no one is available.  I’m looking forward to getting a regular schedule written up.  At least that way I won’t be scrambling for people, as well as having people written on a calendar is a real sign of commitment by them.

I am excited to sing this Sunday.  Joi and I make beautiful harmonies.  My favorite!
